About Me
Piano has always been a major part of my life because I have taken lessons since I was seven and taught piano since I was fifteen. I have taught students from ages four to seventy both through my own private studio and West Texas A&M University’s (WTAMU) music academy. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree of Piano Performance and Pedagogy from WTAMU, studying piano under Dr. Denise Parr-Scanlin and pedagogy under Dr. Choong-Ha Nam. While I was there, I conducted one research study on how musicians are affected by performance anxiety and another one on the benefits of practicing yoga for pianists. I have performed and accompanied in numerous recitals both at the University and in the community. I continued my studies in piano while specializing in overcoming performance anxiety in Oxford, England under Charlotte Tomlinson.
